The FairPlay sportsbook follows what India actually switches the television on for. Cricket sets the pace, but football, kabaddi, tennis and esports each carry a full pre-match and in-play book, and the exchange runs alongside them for anyone who would rather name a price than take one.
Sports and competitions
Pre-match markets open days before a fixture and stay up until the first ball, whistle or serve. In-play markets take over from there and run to the final result.
- Cricket — the IPL, international tours, T20 franchise leagues, and domestic first-class and ODI competitions.
- Football — the Indian Super League, Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, the Champions League and the major international tournaments.
- Kabaddi — every match of the season, with match, half and margin lines.
- Tennis — all four Grand Slams plus the ATP and WTA tours, priced down to game and set level.
- Basketball, esports and horse racing — the NBA and EuroLeague, the main CS and Dota circuits, and racing from Indian and overseas tracks.
- Virtual sports — simulated fixtures every few minutes, for the hours when nothing live is running.
Cricket and IPL markets
Cricket carries the deepest book on the site, and the match winner is only the front page of it.
| Market type | What you are pricing |
|---|---|
| Player markets | Top batter and top bowler for each side |
| Totals | Match runs, innings runs and individual team totals |
| Sessions and overs | Session and over lines, moved ball by ball |
| Wickets | Fall of next wicket, method of dismissal and next-delivery markets |
| Match specials | Toss result, powerplay totals and highest opening partnership |
| Outrights | Tournament winner, leading run scorer and leading wicket taker |
Through the IPL the in-play book stays open across both innings, with prices answering every wicket and boundary as it lands.
The exchange: back and lay
On the exchange your bet is matched against another player rather than against a house price, and that changes what a bet can do.
Back
You bet that something will happen — the familiar side of a market.
Lay
You take the other side and bet that it will not happen. Your liability is the amount you would owe if it does.
Name your price
Ask for the odds you want and wait to be matched, instead of accepting whatever is on offer.
Trade out
Place an opposing bet later in the match to lock in a profit or cut a loss before the result is known.
Commission is taken from net winnings in a market, not from turnover, and the rate is shown before you confirm a bet.
New to laying? Begin with small stakes on a two-outcome market, where the liability is easy to picture, before moving to markets with many possible results.
Live betting and cash out
In-play prices refresh without pause, so every live bet passes through a short acceptance delay before it is matched.
-
You place the bet
Your stake and the price you asked for go to the bet slip.
-
The price is re-checked
A few seconds pass while the live market is compared against the odds you took. This keeps out bets struck on information the price has not caught up with.
-
Matched, or offered again
If nothing has moved, the bet stands. If the price has shifted, it comes back for confirmation at the new odds rather than being matched at a stale number.
Cash out is available on most in-play markets and closes a bet at its current value. Expect less than the full return while your selection is winning, and something rather than nothing while it is losing.
Limits, settlement and rules
- Maximum stake and maximum payout differ by sport and by market, and both are shown on the bet slip.
- Settlement follows the official result published by the governing body. Where a result is later amended, the correction is applied.
- Matches that are abandoned, postponed or cut short are voided or settled under the sport-specific rules linked from each market.
- A bet struck on a market that was priced in error may be voided. The betting rules set out when that applies.
Betting questions
What is the difference between the sportsbook and the exchange?
The sportsbook quotes a price set by FairPlay, with the margin already built in. The exchange matches you against other players, so you can ask for your own odds, lay an outcome and trade out of a position mid-match. Exchange winnings carry commission.
Can I cancel a bet after placing it?
A matched bet cannot be cancelled. An unmatched exchange order can be pulled at any time before someone takes the other side, and where cash out is offered it is the practical way out of a matched position.
Why was my live bet not accepted?
Live bets pass through a short acceptance delay. If the price moves during it, the bet is handed back for confirmation at the new odds rather than matched at the old ones.
Do sports bets count towards bonus wagering?
They count when the odds are 1.50 or longer. Bets at shorter prices are accepted as normal but do not reduce the requirement.
When do winnings reach my balance?
As soon as the market settles, which is usually within minutes of the official result. Markets that rely on confirmed statistics can take longer.
